My Name is Roxie – I’m a 5 years old dog (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) and I’m very, very afraid of lightening and thunder(see videos of me during thundertorms and helpful articles) . I don’t like creepy crawlies(but I don’t wish them any harm), my predecessors Charlie and Max(they were King Charles Cavalier Spaniels too) would spend the day chasing flies, even bees. Charlie and Max’s best treasure was finding a dead bird(and trying to sneak it into the house). That would gross me out. I love playing fetch with all my toys, watching t.v(with the family), and I prefer drinking water out of a glass –that’s evolution for you. I am named after Roxie Hart from the Musical Chicago. I don’t resemble “Renée Zellweger” my legs aren’t as long, but my family assures me that I’m just as beautiful in my own way—not that outer beauty is important – it’s “inner beauty” that counts. If that’s true I have to be one of the most beautiful dogs in the whole world — because I don’t have one mean thought and I love everyone and everything. P.S.“Renée Zellweger” has a dog named Dylan. Lyrics to Roxie.
When I was a “puppy” I woke up every morning to the musical “Chicago”. After being up half the night with me; “Mawther” said that was the only way she could face the morning Listen to the song “Roxie” sung by Renee Zellweger while viewing Roxie’s Slide Show
This was supposed to be a daily journal but it grew(unlike me – I’m very small, but not in spirit). I’m not the most focused dog and my mind goes in different directions all at once –so I decided to break up my journal into different topics. By the way I refer to my parents as maw, mawm, mawther, paw, pawther etc.,. I really think this is very, very, silly but my maw and paw made me because they don’t want everyone to know that I call them by their given names.

These Boots Are Made For Walking
We were in the big city and this is the first time I ran into salt on the sidewalks. I had to be carried everywhere. Before going to a movie maw and paw were running around looking for winter boots for me. They found them at a “doggie boutique” which is unheard of where we live. Getting me to wear them was another story. They ended up throwing dog biscuits on our familyroom rug and I finally got the hang of it. The good news is that we left them in the “big city” and use my winter boots for extreme conditions. See MyNameIsRoxie’s Safety Tips in the Winter.
Our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Roxie feeling under the weather January 11/2008
I love the winter and I’m really a rough and tumble kind of a pooch(cavalier king charles spaniel) – I seem to tolerate extreme cold – but I’m very well supervised click on the video to see how much fun I have. See MyNameIsRoxie’s Safety Tips in the Winter.
BEN’S NOVEMBER 2007 VISIT
Ben at best is apathetic towards me. I actually think he can’t stand me sometimes. He’s madly in love with El a very silly, shallow, vain, chocolate lab that has the attention span of a flea. When I greet him affectionately (I can without appearing to be a “hussy” like El since we are related) he can’t run away fast enough. He comes for the week-end – sometimes he stays longer when his parents go for a holiday. He takes over the whole house and Maw-ther feels so sorry for him because he looks so sad and almost pays more attention to him than to me. This week-end he had my favourite bone. I wouldn’t mind so much if he liked me just a little(when you are in love you have no pride).
I won at the end of the day —-the bone at least. I actually like that bone almost as much as Ben – right this minute I like it a lot more than that big lout
Maw-ther finally finished editing her Chautauqua videos and created a blog especially for them –it’s named after me of course—ROXIE’S CHAUTAUQUA HOLIDAY
It’s almost two in the morning and Maw-ther still isn’t in bed – she better come to bed soon or she won’t want to play a zillion rounds of fetch(she says kefvetch)first thing in the morning after she gives me my morning hug.

I feel real secure now that the army is here even the grass tastes better especially with O Canada playing in the background. Those American Cockers might start treating me with a little more respect. There is one American Cocker that I think is real cute —–and this new dog that I just met that was rescued from New Orleans – I hope the tanks don’t make him fearful. He is very fragile on account of the ordeal he’s been through because of Hurricane Katrina.
