Hollywood star Uggie was nearly put down
AS a puppy, Uggie was heading for a rescue centre and could even have been put down. Owner and trainer Omar von Muller, 49, saved Uggie as a puppy and guided him to glory.
He said: “I have had him since he was less than a year old.
“I was told he was going to be taken to the pound where he might be put down. I went to get him out of the situation.”
Omar, who has seven other dogs and has been working in showbusiness for 30 years – soon started teaching Uggie the ropes.
He said: “He was a quick learner. He knows some extreme tricks such as skateboarding and water skiing.”
In The Artist Uggie plays the loyal companion of silent movie star George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) – and even saves his owner from a fire. See the whole interiew and photos at the The Sun:By GRANT ROLLINGS, Published: 18 Jan 2012
